Title = Mikes Rad Car MP3 Player page = mikecarmp3 since = 5-13-01 I haven't had time to really work on my MP3 player for my car, but I'll tell what I've done so far, and update it when possible.

What I have done so far.
The first thing I did to start was to aquire an old computer. fortunately I was able to find one in our junk closet. It's a power computing Power Center 132.
I modified my MP3 player program (see the realbasic section). Now when the program starts, or when you press a certain key the program searches all the hard drives for valid mp3s and it will read the cd in the cd drive even if its plain audio. It also puts the name of the directory that the files are in. We are also using speach software on this mac so that it will speak the title of the song or directory as you cycle through them.
What I plan to do in the not to distant future...
Since the program seeks on all mounted disks for mp3s, this opens up posibilities in the way of Fire Wire drives, which is how I plan to store my songs. When I put this into my car (that is whenever this actually gets done...), I will wire a long firewire cable to the dash and make a place where I can plug in 2.5 inch drives that can get the power off the bus.
